Club 1897 is the programme Kempinski keeps for a select group of agencies, and Dip Needle is among them. In the house’s own words that means complimentary breakfast and priority room upgrades; in ours it means a stay with the standing of a preferred guest, a hotel credit to spend at the spa or at one of the hotel’s tables and a welcome that knows the occasion. A resort such as The Apurva turns on the view and the walk from your room to the sea; a city address such as Sindhorn turns on the hour you arrive and how much of Bangkok you mean to see. Those particulars go into the proposal beside the privileges, so that the decision is made on the stay and not on the number.

04Behind the programme

Kempinski

Kempinski has been keeping hotels since 1897, the date in the club’s name, and it carries the European grand hotel tradition intact to places a long way from Europe. The house that keeps the Adlon beside the Brandenburg Gate and Çırağan Palace on the Bosphorus also keeps The Apurva Kempinski Bali on the cliffs of Nusa Dua, where the gardens run down towards the Indian Ocean and dinner at Koral is taken beside an aquarium. Sindhorn Kempinski sets gardens, an infinity pool and rooms of 66 square metres and upwards in the centre of Bangkok, with Sindhorn Wellness by Resense for the afternoons.

Grand Hotel des Bains in St. Moritz, Ishtar on the Dead Sea, Cancún and Baie Lazare in the Seychelles complete our selection. A Kempinski is recognisable anywhere by its bearing: a doorman who has seen everything, a dining room where people still dress for dinner and a suite built on the assumption that the evening might be spent in it.

Tell us where and when, and what sort of stay it is: a Berlin winter with the museums, a spring on the Bosphorus, a fortnight on Bali with nothing planned. The hotel’s share of each day matters to us.

The suite, chosen
We compare the participating address, its rooms and suites and the Club 1897 rate, then set the privileges and the booking terms beside them in one written proposal, so the stay is decided in full.

Reserved through the Club
On your approval the reservation is placed through Club 1897 with your priorities attached: the occasion, the hour of arrival and the room you would most like to be given. The house prepares accordingly.

Let the house take over
Confirmation and the final arrival details reach you before departure. From the moment the door is held, a Kempinski runs the stay the way it has run stays since 1897, and asks nothing of you but to enjoy it.
