The Set by Invitation is the programme the collection keeps for a chosen group of travel advisors, and it puts a dedicated hotel liaison and a VIP desk behind every reservation we make. For a Dip Needle guest that means VIP recognition worthy of the word, breakfast for two each morning and a hotel credit for the spa, the bar or dinner, whether that is beneath Regent Street or beside the Chao Phraya. Tell us which of these worlds appeals and how the days should go; we find the rooms worth having, set the programme rate and privileges in one proposal and introduce you to the house before you arrive.

Privileges apply to eligible bookings and vary by hotel and rate; upgrades and check-in and check-out times are subject to availability.

04Behind the programme

The Set

The Set is a collection of independent hotels with one thing in common: each has made up its mind. Hotel Café Royal has decided to be London at its most theatrical, Regent Street at the door, Soho and Mayfair either side, the gilded Grill downstairs and David Chipperfield’s rooms of oak and Portland stone above. The Siam has decided to be a collector’s house on the Chao Phraya, with courtyards, Art Deco, pool villas and a pier of its own, composed by Bill Bensley and Krissada Sukosol Clapp. Nay Palad Hideaway on Siargao has decided to leave the diary blank: handcrafted villas between the mangroves and the shore, everything included.

Round Hill in Montego Bay, The Chedi Muscat, Shinta Mani Wild in the Cardamom Mountains, Myconian Deos and Andronis Concept on Santorini complete our selection. The invitation feels like this: the house has been told you are coming by someone it knows, has an opinion about your room and intends to give the journey something no other address could.

Choose the world
Tell us where, when and for what, and whether the stay should be a city lived at full volume or a shore where the days are left open. Between Regent Street and Siargao, The Set covers both.

The house, introduced
We read the participating address room by room, villa by villa, and set the programme rate, the privileges and the terms in one written proposal, so the whole stay is judged before any of it is reserved.

A welcome, prepared
On your approval the reservation goes through The Set’s dedicated liaison and VIP desk, with the occasion, the room you chose and your travel times attached, so the house is preparing for you before you leave.

Let the address speak
Confirmation and the arrival plan follow before departure. We keep the itinerary around the stay deliberately loose, because at a Set hotel the address itself has plans for you, and they are worth leaving room for.
