Silversea booked through Dip Needle carries onboard credit and the selected offers open to our cruise partnerships, set beside the fare before you decide. The first question is which Silversea: an ocean voyage that keeps you in port until late, or an expedition where the weather decides the day. From there the suite, since on a sailing of two weeks the outlook, the deck and the walk to dinner all become part of the holiday. Dining interests, the excursions worth booking early and the shore days you would rather arrange privately go into the same proposal, with the hotels and flights at either end, so the voyage reads as one journey.

04Behind the programme
Silversea
Silversea sails two ways at once. One fleet keeps to the great ocean routes, the other goes to the coasts that need a strengthened hull, and both are all-suite, which Silversea treats as a starting point rather than a category. Silver Nova is the newest expression of the first. Its architecture is deliberately asymmetrical, the public rooms pushed outward and sideways so that the sea appears in places on a ship where it usually does not, and many suites carry a 270-degree view from sea to sky.
S.A.L.T. gives the fleet its second subject. Sea and Land Taste runs a kitchen, a bar, a laboratory and a chef’s table given over to the food of wherever the ship happens to be, so a market walked through in the morning can turn up at dinner. It is a persuasive argument for eating aboard.
