Cabo has two personalities and ME Cabo has picked one. The resort is adults only, faces the bay towards El Arco and runs on music, open air and the assumption that a beach holiday ought to be sociable rather than silent.

The pools and lounges are arranged to be looked at as well as used, and Taboo, with the Grupo Rosanegra collaboration behind it, gives the beach club its tempo. Rooms and suites are contemporary and calm enough to be a retreat from all that, with terraces for the mornings before the volume comes up. There is somewhere quiet to go when the volume becomes too much, and Mamazzita and Craft cover dinner. It suits a celebration, a group of friends or anyone whose idea of the Sea of Cortez involves company.

The bay and the arch

The resort looks across the water to El Arco, the rock arch at the end of the peninsula, and the open-air spaces are set up to keep that view in play from the pools, the lounges and most of the terraces. Cabo San Lucas is close by for anyone who wants the town. The Sea of Cortez does the rest: bright, busy with boats and the reason the light here is worth getting up early for.

Adults only, by design

This is a hotel for grown-ups and it behaves like one. The pools are for lounging, not splashing, the music runs from the afternoon into the evening, and dressing for dinner is part of the arrangement and not an imposition. The beach club sets the tempo from the middle of the afternoon onwards. Rooms and suites hold the calmer side of the equation, contemporary in style, with terraces worth taking a first coffee on.

Where the volume drops

KORPO Wellness Experience is the counterweight: treatments, massage and a gym, and the reason the second half of a day here can feel different from the first. Dinner has range, with Mamazzita and Craft among the options, and the evening tends to lengthen instead of ending. A resort like this works on contrast, and the contrast is available: an hour of quiet buys back the appetite for the rest of it.
